Voice

Priyanka is a vocalist with over ten years of experience in teaching, live performances, and recordings spanning over a vast genre catalog ranging from Western Classical to Indian music.

Based in New York and trained by Joan Dornemann (assistant conductor at The Metropolitan Opera, New York) and Olga Makarina (Soprano at The Met, The Metropolitan Opera, New York), Priyanka has performed in several opera and stage concerts, including the IVAI (Annual) Summer Program, founded and organized by Joan Dornemann and Paul Nadler, and a principal role in The Magic Flute done by YMCA (in Wyckoff, New Jersey).

Priyanka began private teaching in 2012 and has taught music to children and young adults throughout the last decade in the US, France, and India.

Before moving to New York, Priyanka completed her Master's degree from the prestigious Conservatoire de Reims, France; she was supported by a full bright scholarship from 'The Neemrana Music Foundation' and The Embassy of France.

During her tenure in France, she worked extensively with AKADEMIA, a professional Baroque choir and orchestra, performing in a concert "The Orfeo Crossing the Ganges" in Cite de la Musique (Paris) and participating in The Chopin/Rossini tour.

In the early days of her career, Priyanka was a member (as vocalist) of a multilingual Indian pop band 'Dhwani" and performed in numerous concerts across India and international destinations. Her significant accomplishments include winning a national level singing competition organized by The Lions Club of Kolkata and making it to the finals of 'Indian Idol 2008' (produced by Sony Entertainment Television) and Kalakaarz (produced by Doordarshan).

Priyanka has also learned Indian classical music under the Tutelage of Acharya Jayanta bose (Binkar Gharana) and worked with her Guru on numerous experimental projects between 2006 and 2008.

Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is to help students achieve vocal freedom through correct technique and study process to express themselves enjoyably and confidently through music.
