Dana Majana is a visual artist and art educator born in New Jersey. For thirteen years she studied under portrait artist, Lena Di Gangi, and then went on to further her studies at Rutgers University Mason Gross School of the Arts where she received a B.F.A degree in Painting and Art History. After achieving her B.F.A., Miss Majana continued to pursue her educational advancement and received her Master’s of Fine Art from School of Visual Arts in New York City; there she studied painting and taught sculpture.
Dana has spent the last two years teaching and building an art curriculum for the award-winning program "The After School Workshop" in Manhattan and is currently a professor of art history at Essex County College. Her work has been exhibited at the Material Art Fair in Mexico City, the School of Visual Arts, the Xoomba Lounge, as well as 695 Grand Street in Brookyln, George Segal Gallery at Montclair State University, and Mason Gross Galleries at Rutgers University. She is versatile in all painting mediums, drawing, print making, and sculpture.
Dana’s mission as an instructor is to provide an individualized experience for each student and help to develop their personal goals as well as to improve formal art making techniques. Whether it be private sessions or small group sessions, a comfortable and enjoyable environment is essential to her teaching. She is pleased and excited to be offering her expertise at Melody Institute of Music and Art.
